Dear Paws to Talk,
My wife is the most important person in my life. She has stood by the past several months while I was sick and struggled to keep my business going. Amazingly, she swooped in, took care of me and all the other responsibilities she has.
Now that we have exited that difficult time, I would like to throw her a lovely party. The problem is, I have never really given a party and am not sure where to start.
I do know that I would like it to be outdoors with our closest family and friends. Can you help me in planning this party?
-Ken the Human
What a touching story! It sounds like you both deserve a party! Thankfully, our humans love to entertain so we have absorbed some knowledge over the years that will be helpful to you.
Pick a Location
It might be nice to have the party in your own backyard. If the weather acts up, then have a tent put over the party area.
In our opinion, the best parties are the ones that happen in our house. When you are all partied out, your bed and plush toys are just steps away.
Time and Food
First, figure out when you want to have this party. Is it a brunch, dinner or cocktail party? Once you have decided, then the menu will fall into place. Don’t be afraid to ask some friends or family members to help with the food. Or you could have it catered.
In our experience, the follow items seem popular at every party:
-Homemade treats in the shape of a Standard Poodle or any other breed
The Guest List
It sounds like a small to medium size get together is what you have in mind. When planning a party, the guest list can balloon very quickly. Only include people who you want there.
There is no need to invite beings out of social obligation. Surround yourself with those who are dear to you.
Also, animals make everyone happy so you might want to consider adding a few dogs and maybe some cats to the guest list.
This is optional. Sometimes the best parties are ones where conversation and laughter fill the air. However, if you want some talent suggestions you have come to the right place.
We have a few animal friends in the music industry. Many of them have just cut their own music videos. Also, we know a couple of singing dogs. These acts would really spice up the party.
We truly hope that you and your wife enjoy this event and the days that follow it. There is nothing like a great party to make you feel alive.
Bella and DiDi
P.S.- If you need us on site leading up to the party, we would be happy to fly in. Our fee is one Prime Rib per dog.
