Dear Paws to Talk,
I have met the man of my dreams and we are getting married next month. It is all so exciting. The wedding planning has been a breeze but we cannot agree on where to take our honeymoon.
It has been a few years since either of us has taken a vacation so this trip is very important to us. My fiancé, Jason wants to go to Hawaii but I would like to go to Europe.
Do you have any suggestions on where we should go?
-Carol the Human
Howl Carol,
I am wagging my tail and whole body with joy! One of my favorite things is a happy love story. Congratulations to you and Jason!
I have been on a lot of vacations and still to this day the hour we spend at the pet store each month is my favorite getaway. What more could you want besides endless supplies of kibble, treats, toys and the presence of exotic birds?
However, you and your soon-to-be-husband might not find this as thrilling as DiDi and I do. From what I hear, Hawaii is paradise with wonderful weather, beaches and water sports. Be sure to put on enough sunscreen since you don’t wear a fur coat. This maybe just the place to relax after your wedding.
Although, if you go to Europe, there are countless travel opportunities. You might have fun exploring a couple of countries through the duration of your trip as opposed to settling in one place for the whole time.
Also, DiDi and I descend from there so depending on where you go, we might be able to arrange for our relatives to show you some local specialities.
This is a tough choice so I am going to open the question up to our beloved readers. I have even created a poll below so you can see what the consensus is.
No matter where you go, I think you will have a fantastic time because you will be with each other.
Woof,
Bella

Our Mummy’s parents went on a special trip to look at lots of historic places they were interested in. Whee say come to England. It may rain some of the time but it has great sites and landmarks and romantic villages, lovely beaches, views and landscapes, historic building, whee could go on and on!
Oh and whee live here so it must be amazing! 😉

England seems like a wonderful place to honeymoon! It is worth the trip just to see you four!
I agree with Bassa. Come to Georgia Carol – you will get a great welcome!
This is a wonderful idea!
Come to Georgia Carol – you will get a great welcome!
Oooo, Georgia is a great suggestion. Carol besides many other wonderful things they make bread that will make you drool from thousands of miles away. 🙂
Eko was at the computer and voted for the pet store, whoops!
Yay Eko! You’re our kind of dog 🙂
Bella, you give such sensible advice! And you’re a really good listener, too 🙂
Bella: Thank you very much. I try to do my best. 🙂
Oh great idea to do a poll!
Thank you! It has been fun to track it.
Wherever you go avoid tourists so you can sure enjoy your honey moon.
Very helpful point!
Hope you have a lovely time wherever you go!
That is very sweet Misaki
PAWS DOWN HAWAII!!!!
OMD!! My husband and I honeymooned there for our wedding in 2006. (Second marriage for both). If you like warmth, the “aloha spirit” of love, Hawaii is the place! We stayed on the island of Kauai which is the “Garden Island” With Hawaii you can’t go wrong on ANY of the islands!!! Go to Hawaii!!!
I think this counts as two votes for Hawaii! 🙂 Sounds glorious!
Well, Hawai’i and Europe imply very different views of what you’ll be doing on your vacation. So, it seems to me, you need to talk about what you’d like to DO on your honeymoon (outside of your honeymoon suite) and that will guide you as to the best place to go! Hope that helps! 🙂
Great advice! Yes, more conversation will be needed.
When basket-case (sorry, husband) and I got married, we were somewhat short of cash (weddings will do that to anyone), so we were trying to think of relatively inexpensive destinations. Hubby suggested camping!?!?!?!?! Am I mad, or does a destination with an ablution block seem just slightly unreasonable for a romantic honeymoon?
We think camping could be fun but it doesn’t sound like a honeymoon trip. Although some may disagree.
