Howl,
That may sound like a ridiculous question to most of our friends out there. However, we are amazed how many humans and animals hold their thoughts and feelings in.
We believe in barking. In fact, we bark at each other each day. Here is the dialogue from one of our recent conversations:
Bella: I was so upset last night when I saw you in my bed. Aren’t some things sacred?
DiDi: Your bed has the perfect sweet spot. Mine is too firm.
Bella: So work on it some more. I walked around in circles on my bed for a while to create the sweet spot.
DiDi: I will try it but I like your bed better.
Bella: *Sigh* Has the return policy for you expired yet?
Even though we don’t always agree, we are able to have a honest bark session. Are you free to bark with someone close to you?
Woof,
Bella and DiDi

That was a good bark session.
We thought so! 🙂
As you probably know, Popcorn isn’t much of a speaker. But there was once, when Popcorn communicated with my sister’s Westie, Giggs. They were separated by a glass door and were in their separate crates. Then Giggs started to wooof a little, and Poppy did exactly the same thing immediately after. Their conversation went on for several minutes! It was just adorable :}
Thanks for sharing that sweet story!
Haha I love your conversation! Daisy certainly does communicate with us in lots of different ways, but she mostly likes to alert us to unusual things outside or even new things inside with lots of expressive “bfffff’s” and grumbles. We love it! 😀
Thanks! We’re glad Daisy communicates. We think there are many realms of barking and grumbling is definitely one. 🙂
Litchi, for some reason, seems to think she can communicate with leaves!?! Maybe she knows something I don’t but either way, she likes to bark at them a LOT!
Hmmm, the leaves must be good listeners. 🙂
I only bark when I need to tell my humans off which luckily is rare. I do ‘talk’ occasionally and have been said to sound like chewbacca 🙂
Misaki it sounds like you communicate very well. We’d like to hear your chewbacca chatter sometime! 🙂
Haha barkers and roo rooers here and if I am real lucky they sing too 😉
What talented doggies! Maybe they can audition for American Idol? 🙂
Wouldn’t that be something to see 🙂
🙂
Hi girls…of course I bark. Mostly to call attention to something or someone that dares to walk on one single blade of grass in our yard…I may be little but I am very protective of HER!
Dante we like that you bark to guard HER. We are supposed to protect our humans.
Mrs. P.I.B. likes to bark at things she hears outside. Then Wonderbutt joins her – even though he has no idea why she is barking.
Bella: DiDi always starts barking when I do.
“Do I bark?” Is the Pope Catholic???!!! BOL! Oh yeah I have someone to bark with! I bark in my kitty brother’s face all the time!!!
BOL! We’re glad you have a barking partner or target. 🙂
Lola and I are opposites. I keep my frustrations to myself until I reach a breaking point and Lola barks with very little provocation. Perhaps we could learn from each other.
Shary it sounds like you and Lola could learn from each other! Maybe you need a little more bark in your life and Lola needs a bit less?
To tell you the truth; I don’t think whee can bark! But whee are very open and accepting in our little herd so whee squeak up instead of holding back! 🙂

Good for you!
Henry isn’t much of a barker, except when he hears other dogs in the neighborhood barking. Then he goes full steam into bark mode. I think they’re telling each other something, but not sure what. It’s very cryptic barking. Loud and cryptic.
We do speak a different language 🙂
I don’t bark much, but I do bark a mean streak at the mailman. I usually say, “Do not pretend to bring mail, when you really just want to kill me! I’m onto you!”
Love and licks,
Cupcake
Cupcake,
It seems like you use your barks for a good purpose.

Doggy is a quiet man, he rarely barks, just at night when he sees another dog(his reflect) at the window, he goes up and down stairs barking, bless his soul.
Awww, sweet, young Doggy!
This is LuLu Belle of DogDaz. Sofie Bear and I have many meaningful bark-a-thons regarding similar issues as you guys. We also have to lower ourselves and talk to the cats sometimes too.
Hi LuLu,
Thanks for stopping by! We are glad that you and Sofie have thoughtful bark-a-thons. We think it can be healthy.

We’re with Rumpy on the hacked front – twitter is sending us odd messages from you too. Hope you manage to wrestle back control!
Sorry about that! We think we have the problem fixed.
I am more of a woo woo wooer myself.
BTW: your Twitter account sent me a virus. You’ve been hacked!
We like woo wooing too. Thanks for the Twitter alert!
